The 5th edition of the Oriéntate Festival in Llanes is being held From January 23 to January 31, 2026This competition is organized by the Llanes City Council and has two sections: the official short film section and the [other section]. Panorama Asturias.

The event, dedicated solely and entirely to audiovisual creations made in Asturias, will host screenings, meetings and activities for a week which reaffirm the festival's commitment to local filmmakers, the development of new audiences, and the promotion of local film heritage.

The competitive heart of the festival is made up of a a carefully curated selection of short films that reflect the creative, thematic and formal diversity of contemporary Asturian cinema.

Law of Time, by Roberto F. Canuto & Xiaoxi Xu, is a sensitive story about the encounter between a young photographer and a cheesemaker marked by old prejudices, where artistic creation and artisanal work become unexpected bridges between two generations and two ways of looking at the world.

In a shorter, more ironic tone, Midnight snackThe world premiere of Diego Carmona places its protagonist in front of a simple vending machine that, by denying him a chocolate bar, unleashes a small nocturnal odyssey where desire and frustration push him to make increasingly extreme decisions.

Fuera de juego, by Arantxa Sánchez Velarde & Daniela Molleda Rodríguez, proposes an intimate journey in which a family visit and a seemingly innocent conversation open the door to a silenced past, forcing its protagonist to rethink his identity and his way of inhabiting the present.

For love at art, a comedy by Álex Corte & Adrián Neo, goes behind the scenes of a theater company on the verge of its premiere to portray, with humor and satirical spirit, the creative chaos, egos and contradictions of a profession sustained by passion even when everything seems to be falling apart.

Lía Lugilde presents in Skip A documentary essay that, based on landscapes and testimonies, reflects poetically and directly on suicide and the mark it leaves on a territory where chosen death is part of the collective experience.

After receiving a Special Mention at the 63rd edition of FICX, it arrives at Oriéntate A woman I met named Yudita, by Rodrigo Agüeria. The memory of a woman isolated from the world becomes the symbol of a shared silence, of a community that preferred not to look and whose memory fades with the passage of time.

VerminJuan Villa's film takes the viewer to a remote village where a young shepherd, harassed by wolves and the shadow of his father's past, struggles to survive in an environment as hostile as the stares of those around him.

The selection concludes with the debut in Asturias of Matryoshka, by Sergio Garai, a disturbing story in which a recently widowed psychologist delves into an artificial intelligence project that destabilizes his dreams, his perception of reality and his confidence in his own sanity.

The festival will host the Ana de la Tassa concertA young Asturian artist who fuses pop and singer-songwriter styles, reinforcing the interdisciplinary nature of the event. The concert will run continuously with the screening of the Official Selection on Saturday. January 31st, at 19:30 pm, at the Llanes Cultural Center.

Llanes, Capital of the Seventh Art: III Asturian Cinema Days
