We were really looking forward to telling you about the full programme of the 5th Season of Songwriters at COHENtros. Between November 7 and 10, the enCOHENtros will bring together fifteen singer-songwriters, musicians and writers in Oviedo to enjoy the songs in an inspiring programme that includes musical conversations, concerts, conferences, round tables, cinema and, for the first time, a cockfight. Are you coming? The entire programme is free, with free admission until full capacity is reached.
1/ Tribute to Javier Krahe
Musicians Andreas Prittwitz and Luis Fernández will provide the music for the tribute to this cult artist who won over the public with his caustic lyrics about love, politics and religion. Before the music, a round table discussion will delve into his figure: his biographer, Federico de Haro; the musician Javier López de Guereña, his collaborator for more than 30 years, and the journalist Pachi Poncela.

2/ Battle of roosters
For the first time, improvised rap will be included in the enCOHENtros programme.
Freestylers DJ Danipov, Invert and JDR and host Queen Mary will star in a battle of roosters and will first participate in a round table moderated by poet Yasmina Álvarez.

3/ Perla Batalla at the University of Oviedo
The singer and songwriter will be the protagonist of one of the enCOHENtros talks and will give a concert. Batalla's career has been closely linked to Leonard Cohen's: for more than 10 years she was a backing singer on his albums and live, and she toured the world with the poet and singer-songwriter. To interview her, enCOHENtros will count on Jordi Turtós, co-author of Cantautores en España.

4/ Chat with Bernardo Fuster
He founded Suburbano together with Luis Mendo, and wrote songs such as the best-selling La puerta de Alcalá, Makinavaja, Arde París or Me cago en su excelencia. Suburbano was Luis Eduardo Aute's backing band for 13 years. Critic Miguel A. Fernández will moderate the talk with this musician, composer and writer, who experienced the harshness of exile during the Franco dictatorship and was forced to record albums under a false name.

5/ To the cinema with Joan Baez
The enCOHENtros will end with the singer-songwriter's voice through the documentary in which the legendary activist reviews her life during the tour she did in 2018/2019. In Joan Baez: I am a Noise, directed by Miri Navasky, Maeve O'Boyle and Karen O'Connor, the personal struggles she has maintained in private come to light. This session will be presented by José Errasti, director of the Leonard Cohen Chair, and will close the 5th Season of the Songwriter's Song.

6/ The enCOHENtros will once again give voice to the public at the 𝐍𝐨𝐜𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐫𝐨́𝐟𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐨𝐬, a musical event that offers professionals and amateurs the chance to share music and emotion.
