In this weekly updated agenda we propose here cultural activities, workshops, excursions… leisure plans to do with small and not so small children. They are grouped according to the museum equipment or the location where they are held. We hope it is useful to you so you can fully enjoy it with the little ones in the house.
Activities for children at the Laboral, Gijón
Activities for children at the Tito Bustillo Rock Art Centre, Ribadesella
[1]· Hands on the brush and painting the panel
- Saturdays and Sundays from February to June and from September to December the 12: 00 hours.
- Wednesday to Sunday in July and August the 12: 00 hours.
- It will also be held in Easter (April 17 and 18) May 1 and December 8.
We will experiment with brushes, pigments and coloured stones to become prehistoric artists and discover how our ancestors painted caves like Tito Bustillo.

How and where did the people who inhabited our region live during the Paleolithic? Did you know they set up camps outside caves? We'll tell you all about it, and with the help of your clan, you can test your skills by making your own miniature tent.

The representation of women in Prehistory is very common. One of the clearest examples is the Venus, small statuettes with a feminine shape. In this workshop we will use our hands to create our own figure.

We'll test our aim as we discuss prehistoric hunting techniques and the tools needed, such as javelins and the propelling bow.

Hunting was one of the fundamental activities for the survival of Paleolithic groups; it provided food, but also clothing and raw materials for making tools. In this workshop, we'll become as keen observers and connoisseurs of the natural environment as our ancestors. We'll briefly become hunters, testing our skills with Paleolithic weapons such as the spearhead and the javelin.

[3] Guided tour of the enclosures

Outside the park, we can see life-size recreations of two now-extinct animals: a mammoth and a megaloceros. However, the park's most special inhabitants are alive and well, and you'll see them grazing or resting in our enclosures. Tarpan and Przewalski horses, aurochs, fallow deer, red deer, and European bison—animals that were already painted in caves by our ancestors.
This summer, come to the Park to learn many more interesting facts about our animals: how their fur adapts to each season, what they eat, how often they shed their antlers...

How was the Earth formed? The Gondwana Museum of the Praehistorium takes us on an exploration of the origins of life through the geological materials and processes necessary for the formation of our planet. The MUJA (Museum of the Gondwana Museum of the Praehistorium) collaborates on this exhibition, created by Mathias Michael Kuhl, founder and president of the Gondwana Museum of the Praehistorium, with scientific content by Dr. Joachim Reitner.

Through traditional games, we'll delve into the world of dinosaurs and learn which ones lived in Asturias, what their footprints look like, and all the information we can glean from them. Did they walk alone or in herds? Did they walk quickly or slowly? How long was this dinosaur? Did it have any injuries?
