The beach and estuary complex, with salt marshes and small dunes, is a refuge for migratory birds and has an enormous natural and scenic value, with views of the Boy islets. Shared by the councils of Tapia de Casariego and El Franco to serve as a boundary between both.

This beach is about 240 meters long and 69 meters wide. Porcía beach has a deserved reputation for being one of the most beautiful in western Asturias. Normally the occupancy level of Porcía beach is high as it is a semi-urban beach; its composition is sand and It has several islands: Isla Grande, Isla Pequeña and Gavioteiro.

It has road access from the N-634 by a local road that is entered from El Franco and in whose term there is an immediate parking area to the beach. It can also be reached from Campos and Salave, in Tapia de Casariego.
