Asturias maintains its fifteen environmental quality seals, there are 14 beaches and the Gijón Marina, the only pier in all of Asturias to fly the blue flag, which since 1995 has been repeated every summer season.
The Environmental and Consumer Education Association (Adeac) emerged in France in 1985, and taking into account aspects such as the quality of the water, safety and the infrastructure available on the beaches, they grant the badges.
