To avoid fines and penalties it is better to know in advance where we can enjoy a quiet day at the beach with our pet or where we can have a drink without worries.

The city will also be a more than pleasant adventure with your pet. Above all because in Asturias cities are designed to enjoy the nature that surrounds them. Designed for walking or cycling. Designed to walk by the sea or through the marina - in the case of Gijón -, or to enjoy the surroundings of the estuary - in the case of Avilés -, where you can also visit the Ferrera Park. Or to walk through parks and gardens, such as Campo de San Francisco, as it happens in Oviedo.

And obviously you can also get lost with your pet in the historic centers, or in any pleasant corner of the many that these cities offer, ideal for their size and their lifestyle so that your little animal can enjoy at ease.
What's more, Gijón has the Dog Friendly destination rating, which means that it has spaces, events, activities, accommodation and other services specially designed for your pets.

Routes to do with dogs in Asturias

One of the most notable events in the festive and sporting history of Asturias is the Feast of the Piraguas, also known as the International Descent of the Sella, which takes place between Arriondas and Ribadesella every first Saturday in August.
Precisely in festivity it has its origin in a well-known and increasingly practiced activity of active tourism in Asturias, which is the Canoeing down the Sella River...
Thousands of people descend this mythical and historic Asturian river every year, emulating the sporting feat of the great champions who have competed every year for more than 80 years. There are companies that offer the possibility of going down the river with your pet.

We also recommend some routes more than, due to their accessibility and beauty, they are highly recommended for walking with your dog. A walk next to the Profundu river in Villaviciosa, a walk to one of the most beautiful pools in Asturias, a route through the magical Sueve beech forest ... Discover them here!

The Asturian coast, with its many watchtowers, its beaches and rocks, its capes and its lighthouses, and its coastal paths is one of the great attractions to fully enjoy a nature that bathes lovingly in the Cantabrian Sea. To be more specific, some of the beaches that allow pets are El Cervigón, in Gijón; Salencia, in Cudillero; Cambaredo, in El Franco, and in a part of the Bayas beach, in Castrillón.
