The town of Noreña hosts each spring coinciding with the celebration of the San Marcos festivity, patron saint of the butchers, Party of picadillo and sabadiegodeclared Festival of tourist interest in the Principality of AsturiasThis 2026 will be between the days 24 y 27 de abril.
If there is something that distinguishes Noreña, it is the manufacture of all kinds of sausages. This festival pays tribute to a long-standing culinary tradition. Many portions of picadillo, the best-known sausage, and many more of sabadiego, a sausage made from blood, lean meat and onion, will be served.
The Order of Sabadiego is responsible for promoting this product and the party. Each year they invite an illustrious town crier to kick off the festivities, to which other brotherhoods of this type come from all over Spain and the south-west of France.
