Located in the western end of the council of Valdés is in the vicinity of the town of Otur, and about 6 kilometers from Luarca.

The beach is 600 meters long, with sand, rocky areas, and dunes . The western end is called Las Barqueras, while the eastern end is called Castro because there is a Roman-era hill fort near the beach. It is an ideal spot for swimming and also offers good conditions for diving and surfing.

Otur beach is accessed from the N-634, between the homonymous population and that of Sabugo, traveling about 800 meters. You can reach the sand by car; although you must park in the area enabled as parking. Otur beach can also be reached by rail; the nearest station is in Piniello, at 3 kilometers.
