LABORAL CENTER FOR ART AND INDUSTRIAL CREATION
Guided tour of LABoral Art Center
Saturday, May 16th to 12 hours.
On May 16, 2026, museums around the world will celebrate International Museum Day under the theme "Museums Uniting a Divided World." Promoted by the International Council of Museums (ICOM), this edition focuses on the role of museums as spaces for encounter, dialogue, and building mutual understanding: places that bridge cultural, social, and geopolitical divides, fostering inclusion, understanding, and peace.
In this context, LABoral Centro de Arte joins in this celebration with a special guided tour led by the director, Semíramis González, on the 16th at 12 pm, as part of the new free guided tour program launched by the Center this year. The tour will offer visitors the opportunity to explore different spaces, such as the resident artists' studios, the fabLAB digital fabrication lab, and the current exhibitions.
Likewise, the visit to the exhibition “De rerum natura. On the nature of things” will include the participation of La Rectoral, curators of the exhibition.
Saturday, May 16th to 18 hours
As part of the program, LABoral also hosts the performance «Stranded»Teresa Hernández's performance, which concludes her artistic residency at LABoral within the *coastARTS research project, will take place at 18 pm. In this performance, the transdisciplinary artist shares and displays the images, materials, and concepts she has found and collected on the coast and through serendipitous readings. The practice of wandering and conversation have been the primary methodologies in her artistic research. Everything she discovers is processed by and through a mature, moving body, open to being altered, with a persistent question: could we change the scale, to decrease?
Both activities are free, but prior registration is required via email info@laboralcentrodearte.org or by phone 985 185 577.
