Located on the outskirts of the city of Gijón It is a monumental building, measuring 270.000 square meters and these dimensions make it even larger than the El Escorial Monastery. For this reason it holds the title of largest building in Spain.
Today it houses the radio and television headquarters of the Principality of Asturias (RTPA), a large theater, the Higher School of Dramatic Arts, the Professional Conservatory of Music and Dance of Gijón, and the “Jovellanos” Faculty of Commerce, Tourism and Social Sciences.
This privileged space in the city has become the venue for the most notable events that come to Gijón: concerts and musicals, plays, professional meetings or advanced training courses.
