A stress-free rural setting (the course is never overcrowded, which, combined with the tranquility of the landscape, makes the game relaxed and allows you to fully enjoy the sport), an extensive Asturian grass course surrounded by nature on all sides, including the unusual presence of wildlife : a family of fallow deer has made this environment its ideal habitat and for years they have lived alongside the golfers themselves who, in a privileged way, practice this sport a few meters away from the deer without them feeling threatened.
The animals, roaming freely, are just one example of this unique golf course, one of the most natural on the Iberian Peninsula. In fact, Rasa de Berbes is already a prime example of environmental sustainability for all Spanish golf facilities.
After learning about the traditional maintenance and conservation methods carried out by the local club, the Spanish Golf Federation has included it in its list of sustainable courses: it is a course with its own native grasses where no artificial treatment or seeding is practiced; the irrigation system installed on the greens ensures perfect conditions; the natural drainage of the land prevents the course from becoming waterlogged or flooded despite the rains, allowing the game to be played all year round.
Furthermore, the surrounding area of La Rasa only adds to its environmental appeal , with its proximity to the Sierra del Sueve (a protected landscape) and the Jurassic coastal strip. Just one kilometer from the property lies the Entrepeñes gorge and Vega beach, a protected area encompassing approximately 37 hectares. This entire area combines various biological and geological features, making it one of the most environmentally significant areas on the Asturian coast.
From some of the 18 holes of this course, specifically from the 13th hole - which is named after Ribadesella - you can reach one of the most amazing panoramic views of the coastal town, and its apparent friendliness, a short Par 3, allows us to enjoy this vision while we devise our shots.
The terrain , in such an authentic setting, couldn't be anything but rugged and uneven, in keeping with the Asturian landscape, revealing unexpected nooks and crannies, including lagoons and streams that we must navigate with daring approaches to the green. The Casigosa , or 17th hole, is considered the most difficult on the course. Its out-of-bounds area to the right, and the numerous trees on the fairway and at the green entrance, make achieving par (a not-very-long 4) almost impossible on many occasions. The "cake," the 3rd hole, presents a nearly impossible tee shot, especially with northwest winds, as clearing the line of pine trees is a real feat for many players.

The Club de Golf Rasa de Berbes currently has more paid families with 200 and still has a greater number of licenses.
The land is municipal property, although the management of the field is in the hands of the club, a collective created in the year 1990 by a small group of lovers of this sport, led by D. Luís Estévez Fernández, who at 1994 saw their efforts rewarded when the first holes of the field were inaugurated.

Location: The facilities are located in the town of Berbes at 10 Km from Ribadesella, accessing them by the Ribadesella - Gijón National Road, 11,5 kilometer point. If you access from the Cantabrian motorway, the nearest exit is the number 337 Caravia-Berbes, which is about 3 Km from the Club.
The field is at 50 kilometers from Gijón. 70 of Oviedo. 130 of Santander and 30 of Llanes. Airport: 95 Km. Railway Station FEVE to 10 Km.
