The most famous and prestigious mountain race in Asturias , the Travesera Integral Picos de Europa, arose from the natural desire of several Asturian mountaineers to complete a route that would traverse the three massifs of the Picos de Europa in one go. This ultra-trail, with over 74 km and 13.145 meters of accumulated elevation gain across high-mountain limestone terrain, presents a challenge and an unforgettable experience, crossing the unique environment of the Picos de Europa National Park.
It is a test approved by the ITRA (International Trail Running Association) and FEMPA. It is also qualified for the UTMB (Ultra-Trail de Mont-Blanc) with 4 points. One of the most difficult and technically demanding in the world.

Picos de Europa Traverse 2026
The Traveserina is a mountain race that, with a distance of 45 km and 7.000 meters of accumulated elevation gain , runs through the privileged environment of the Picos de Europa National Park, going into the heart of it and reaching the foot of the emblematic Naranjo de Bulnes, or better called "Picu Urrielu".
It is a test approved by FEMPA. It is also certified by the ITRA and is a qualifying race for the UTMB (Ultra-Trail de Mont-Blanc).
