The Principality is no longer far from Madrid. Crossing the Cantabrian mountain range at more than 200 kilometers per hour represents a great reduction in time. Five hours are no longer spent, not even four... just three.

Furthermore, the 50 kilometer variant that separates La Robla (León) and Pola de Lena (Asturias) is the most complex railway project that has been undertaken in Spain. The Pajares base tunnel, almost 25 kilometers long, is already the longest tunnel in Spain and one of the largest in the world.
