How to get to Gulpiyuri Beach
There are two ways to access to this hidden beach, making a route on foot through some very beautiful places or approaching it by car and doing the last stretch on foot, in all cases.
[1] In the town of Villahormes, halfway between Nueva de Llanes and Posada de Llanes, a detour on the road indicates the direction to follow: Hontoria and Playa de la Huelga.
After passing under the viaduct of the Cantábrico highway we can park our car if we want to make a nice walking route to the beach. We take the road on our right next to the wall of the Casa- Palacio de la Espriella from the 17th century, declared an Asset of Cultural Interest. Rural house that has 2 plants and outgoing chapel attached to the facade.
We follow the path until we see the beautiful little Chapel of Santa Olaya. If we take the road that does not approach the chapel and we continue along the dirt road next to the A8 highway, we will find the hidden beach of Gulpiyuri.
[2] Along the Cantabrian Highway, we take the exit for Naves, you will have a road to the coast. There is a detour of a few meters towards the Gulpiyuri Beach Natural Monument.
