The Greek is in the shape of a delta and about 800 meters in length. Apart from its great beauty, La Griega is an open-air museum. In it we find 125cm diameter sauropod dinosaur footprints, the largest ever discovered in the world. To see the icons we will not have problems, as they are perfectly signposted. At the bottom of these we discover a huge quarry that serves as a slaughterhouse for dozens of residents who practice sport fishing.
The beach of Lastres and the fishing village are adjacent to the Greek above her, literally hanging over the sea. This last sandy area is about 350 meters long and is also known as the Estilleru beach. Its proximity to the town of Lastres gives it a double appeal, because after taking a good bath a comforting walk does not hurt, especially if it serves to discover one of the most beautiful villages in Asturias. From the town of Lastres itself there are a lot of promontories to continue enjoying the sea view.
Colunga is a good place to enjoy the nautical sports. The fishing and sports port of Lastres houses the possibility of sailing, surfing or windsurfing, as well as underwater fishing in the vicinity of Cabo de Lastres.
Route from Playa de la Griega to Playa de la Isla
We can enjoy the landscape starting from the town of La Isla on the edge of the cliffs until you reach La Griega. We follow a path that runs between 50 and 75 meters high, which clearly shows us the great environmental value of this coast. The path, which starts from the place known as "La Colonia", will lead us to the village of Huerres. From there we take a Short Distance Route (PR) perfectly signposted. Next to the village church, a new path starts that runs through Huerres and San Juan de Duz lands until it ends at La Griega beach, accessible beach.
