Mieres is preparing to celebrate one of the most important festivals in the municipal and regional calendar, Folixa in Spring, which this year will be held on the weekend from 4 to April 6 From 2025, Mieres will become a meeting place, with cider, tradition, music, gastronomy, folklore, and the people who fill the streets, parks, and corners as the protagonists. Three days to celebrate the arrival of spring and build community in a celebration that encourages people to get out, get together, and enjoy themselves.
Rocío Antela's Department of Festivities is already finalizing the full program of activities for Spring Festival, which will be announced in the coming days. For now, the Folixa poster is already known, designed by Gijón-born artist Foni Ardao, whose work captures what the municipality's people represent to him: "the unity of citizens, always with their roots in mind," notes the designer, who created a colorful Folixa poster featuring elements such as spring, cider and its pouring, mining shafts and towers, the river, and some characteristic buildings, all highlighted in blues, greens, and yellows, reminiscent of the spring that blossoms during these weeks.
