La 29th edition of the Esfoyón and Amagosto Festival invites us to revive a tradition that is intended to be transmitted to younger generations. It is Regional Tourist Interest and this 2025 is celebrated November 8th, starting at 19 pm..
The esfoyón, a practice that dates back centuries, was essential for the survival of Asturian families. During the autumn months, neighbours would gather to husk the corn, an arduous but necessary task to ensure sustenance during the winter.
Beyond its practical function, the esphoyon was a social event of great importance. It was an occasion to strengthen community ties, share stories and legends, and celebrate the abundance of the harvest..
· The Panoya de Oro 2025 award is given to the “Príncipe Felipe” Public Basic Education School of Navelgas.
