    El Chosco is a jewel of the Tineo charcuterie tradition and the vaqueira culture of the area, the result of the traditional pig slaughter rooted in these towns in western Asturias. Today it has a seal of gastronomic excellence, being an increasingly common ingredient in restaurants due to its high culinary quality. This XXIII edition will be held next year. Saturday November 2, coinciding with the 7th Huerta Tineo Festival. During the day there will be a very complete programme of activities focused, of course, on the protagonist of Tinete's gastronomy.

    · Friday, November 1st
    At 20:00 p.m. at the Palacio de Meras, a Spanish wine (DOP Vino de Cangas) will be served, accompanied by Asturian products included in the Alimentos del Paraíso guarantee brand, at the end of the day.

    · Saturday 2nd from 12,00:XNUMX pm. Tineo Fairground
    The doors of the festival will open on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. It will be officially inaugurated at midday, with the participation of various authorities and relevant personalities in the Asturian agri-food sector.

    Patricia Baragano, with extensive experience in communications and television media, will be in charge of conducting the opening ceremony.

    He will also be in charge of one of the most significant moments of the festival: the appointment of Ms. Yolanda Berdasco Gancedo, (Navelgas) holds a PhD in English Linguistics and a degree in Journalism. She is a Professor in the Communication Department at the Distance University of Madrid. As a journalist, she has carried out most of her work at Radio Nacional de España and in the communications office of the now defunct Ministry of Rural and Marine Environment. She has also collaborated with other media outlets such as the newspaper La Razón, as Honorary Ambassador of the IGP Chosco de Tineo.

    At the time of the appointment, two gifts will be presented, made specifically for the occasion by two local artists: the jeweller Lucas Santiago and the sculptor and artist from Navelgas, César Castaño.

    At around 13.30:XNUMX p.m. it will be time to enjoy the live cooking, to check how many options the chosco has in the kitchen.

    The Guisanderas, guardians of the secrets of traditional cuisine, represented by Cristina Rey, from the La Gitana Restaurant in Gijón, winner of competitions such as Pote or Callos, They will delight us with a cooking show in which they will prepare two croquette recipes live, the first of them made with Chosco de Tineo (winner of several awards) and paired with a white wine from Cangas and the other, which will be a novelty, a nod to our sister DOP Cabrales Cheese, Cabrales croquette, chestnuts and Chosco crispy, which we will pair with a DOP Cangas red wine, presented by Iñaki Busto, a sommelier and gastronomic specialist.

    A will be distributed tasting and pairing for about 60 people.

    At 15:00 p.m. we will have Live music by Fran Juesas.

    In the 16.30 hours. Live gastronomy in Asturian fusion. Organized by the Asturguaya cheese factory, directed by Catalino Gabriel Garay, Paraguayan chef, founder of the Club de la Cultura y Gastronomía Paraguaya in Spain, accompanied by live music from the harp of Noelia Sanabria. Different gastronomic proposals will be prepared, highlighting the best of each culture and using, of course, the Chosco de Tineo.

    At 18.00 hours it will be done Chosco Chef Awards Ceremony to big and small.

    Starting at 19.00 hours. “Applications of Chosco de Tineo PGI in street food and hamburgers”, prepared by Iñaki Busto, all paired with Asturian craft beer. (Asturian Beef Burger with Tineo Chosco and DOP Cabrales Cheese Sauce)

    The icing on the cake of the festival will once again be the live music from 20:30 a.m.
