As part of the San Félix festivities in Candás, from July 31st to August 3rd , the 55th Sardine Festival takes place , this year on Saturday, August 1st, 2026. It is a Festival of Regional Tourist Interest of Asturias.
Since 1993, the tradition of attending the Sardine Festival dressed in traditional sailor attire has become firmly established. The women wear the sardine seller's dress and the Candás blanket, while the men wear denim suits, white t-shirts, and blue neckerchiefs.
They haven't yet released the full schedule of planned events, but several events are usually held in the town of Candás every year:
12:00 h. Parish Church of San Félix: solemn mass.
12:00 h. Parade with giant heads and bagpipers.
17:00 p.m. Paseo de San Antonio: LIV Sardine Festival.
23:30 p.m. Local dock: open-air dance.
