The capital of the municipality of Cabranes, Santolaya, will host a new edition of its famous rice pudding festival, on the days 8, 9 and 10 May, within the program of the festivities of San Francisco de Paula. During Sunday morning You can taste Cabranes rice pudding for free, celebrating at the same time a traditional market of crafts and agri-food products from the area.
Friday, May 8
· 17:00h 33 Official pourers championship.
· 20:00 p.m. Awards ceremony for the pouring contest.
· 21:00 PM Opening of the festivities at the María Josefa Canellada Cultural Center by the Official Chronicler of the Council, Mr. Enrique Corripio Monestina, appointment of representatives of the festivities, Xana, Xanina, Xanu and Xanín of the Festival and presentation of the commemorative painting of the festival, work of the local artist, Santos Monestina.
· 21:30 p.m. Umbrella placement in the tree in Plaza del Emigrante which, according to tradition, will ward off the drizzle during the festivities. Then, the firework will officially open the San Francisco Festival 2026.
· 22:00 p.m. XXVII Day of Fellowship of Neighbors and Friends of Cabranes with the Grand Barbecue-Dinner in the Plaza del Emigrante, run by the Asador “El Pintxu” from Granda.

Saturday, May 9
· 11:00 AM Children's Day in Santolaya. Organized by the "Blinca" Leisure and Recreation Group. A bus will pick up children from the municipality who wish to participate from 10:00 AM onwards, after prior registration. From 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, there will be games and fun with children's entertainment. Lunch will be at 1:00 PM, and the bus will return home at 4:00 PM.
· 14:00 p.m. Vermouth session starring Pablo Valdés.
· 15:00 p.m. Popular PaellaMixed paella (€12 per serving) to be enjoyed in Plaza del Emigrante. Optional starters: Creole (€5) and pork belly (€5). Tickets are available for purchase upon validation. · 09:30 p.m. Official Reception of the various Gastronomic Brotherhoods Guests invited to the 11th Grand Chapter of the Rice Pudding Brotherhood. Welcome and Cabranes breakfast.
· 10:30 p.m. Civic parade through the streets of Santa Eulalia by the brotherhoods accompanied by the Villaviciosa Bagpipe Band “El Gaitero” and the Villaviciosa Folkloric Group “Aires de Asturias”.
· 11:00h Closing of reception of participants in the Festival Competition.
· 11:30h Opening of the Contest stand in the Plaza del Emigrante of Santolaya de Cabranes.
· 11:30 a.m. Act of the 11th Grand Chapter of the Rice Pudding Brotherhood, in the Plaza del Emigrante, with the presentation of new brothers and the oath. Opening of the Contest stand in the Plaza del Emigrante of Santolaya de Cabranes.
· 12:00 p.m. Mass In honor of Saint Francis of Paola in the Parish Church of Santa Eulalia, followed by the traditional procession to the Plaza del Emigrante, accompanied by the Villaviciosa Bagpipe Band “El Gaitero” and the Villaviciosa Folkloric Group “Aires de Asturias”.
· 13:30 p.m. Opening speech by Marta RoblesJournalist and writer. Institutional event of the 47th Rice Pudding Festival. Presented by Victoria Camacho. Presentation of the "Golden Rice Grain" award to Laureano Corrales Pérez, president of the Rice Pudding Brotherhood. Featuring a performance of Asturian song by Lolo'l Cantu from Cabranes.
· 14:00 PM Public announcement of the festival competition results and awards ceremony.
· 17:00 p.m. Afternoon session with Grupo ASSIA and Marta and María Pérez. DJ AlienDigena.
A free tasting of Cabranes rice pudding will be offered in the morning. A tent will be set up, and food and drinks will be available at the bar all day.
