On the occasion of International Museum Day there are several in our geography that organize special activities that day. Here we detail everything.
TITO BUSTILLO ROCK ART CENTER
They are joining the celebration of International Museum Day with free activities throughout the day and free admission to the Rock Art Center. Admission to the Tito Bustillo Cave and CAR will be free until capacity is reached. Online invitations are recommended. It is essential to arrive at the Center at least 15 minutes early.
1 Children's Workshop: Hands on the Brush and Painting the Panel
Children ages 4 to 11 will experiment with paintbrushes, pigments, and colored stones to become prehistoric artists and discover how our ancestors painted caves like the Tito Bustillo cave.
Hours: 12:00 a.m.
Duration: 45 minutes

3 Family Workshop on Animals in Very Cold Conditions
Do you know what animals existed in Prehistory? Mammoths, cave bears, saber-toothed tigers... They all had something in common: the fur they developed to protect themselves from the cold of the time. Let's get to know them and have fun recreating that fur with different materials.

JURASSIC MUSEUM OF ASTURIAS
Admission to the Museum is free on May 18th, Saturday, May 17th, will have its usual price. It is recommended that you pick up your invitation for Saturday and purchase your ticket for Sunday online.
1 VISIT TO THE LABORATORIES AND LITHOCREAS
The MUJA scientific team opens the doors to their workspace, one of the few opportunities to explore this part of the Museum, to which only our scientists have access. No one better than them to show us the inner workings of the museum.
Hours: 12:30 a.m.
Duration: 60 minutes.
Aimed at: adult audiences.
Capacity: 12 people.
Invitation collection: at the counter on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the activity.
2 CHILDREN'S WORKSHOP ROCK, PAPER, BRUSH
Fossils provide us with a wealth of information; however, you have to know how to interpret them and prepare them well for study or display. Do you dare to try it?
Opening hours: 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 16:00 and 17:00.
Duration: 30 minutes.
Aimed at: children between 4 and 11 years old.

3 FREE AUDIO GUIDE SERVICE DURING MUSEUM HOURS
Adult audio guides. Enjoy the Museum in a different way. Duration: 90 minutes.

TEVERGA PREHISTORY PARK
1 Fire workshop on the occasion of International Museum Day
The Park is joining the celebration of International Museum Day by offering free admission on Sunday, May 18th, and a free fire workshop on May 17th and 18th. You'll discover the fascinating world of fire in prehistory. They'll discuss its uses, the materials needed to make it, how it was made... and you'll put it into practice by trying to make a fire. Come give it a try!
Schedule: Saturday at 17:00 p.m. and Sunday at 13:00 p.m.
Aimed at: all audiences aged 6 and over (minors must be accompanied by an adult).
Price: free

2 PARK ENTRY AND GUIDED TOURS OF THE CAVE OF CAVES
Guided tours of Cueva de Cuevas will be available this weekend at 12:00, 13:45, 17:00, and 17:45. During park hours, from 10:30 a.m. to 18:30 p.m., the park is open to the public.
On Sunday, May 18, admission to the Park is free.
Duration: 30 minutes.

ASTURIAN PRE-ROMANESQUE RECEPTION AND INTERPRETATION CENTER
1 Play in the museum and design your badge
May 17 and 18, 2025, during opening hours.
On the occasion of International Museum Day, the Asturian Pre-Romanesque Reception and Interpretation Center is providing families with materials for games, crafts, and free-form constructions. The materials will be freely available in the exhibition hall. Families will be able to create, assemble, build, and/or color some of the most emblematic elements of our Asturian Pre-Romanesque art.
There will also be traditional medieval games like Alquerque, Pentalfa, Latrunculi… and new ones! Have fun with the Asturian Goose Game, Carcassonne, and Catan (in both adult and children's versions), or with the Magical Path and STEM Project, organized by educational centers in Asturias and supported by Desconectando.
As a new feature, we'll give you the badge! The public will have access to materials to paint and decorate their own pre-Romanesque badges.
Aimed at: family audiences.
Duration: Maximum 45 minutes per group. Groups will be formed in strict order of arrival.
Places: 15 places per group.
