The central Plaza Venancio Pando de Arriondas hosts the annual celebration of this veteran event already in the region. It is a meeting point for artisan producers and makers with a local and foreign public, who take home the best of the Asturian countryside.

Every November, chestnut harvesters and orchard producers meet in the town of Arriondas in Parra, and with a large number of people, they sell a wide variety of high-quality agri-food products.

Chestnuts of the varieties 'Miguelina', 'Fano', 'Parllera', 'Musina', 'Mourisco', 'Bacoa', 'Chamberga', 'Doriga', 'Grúa', 'Llanisca', 'Navexa', 'Parede', 'Pelona', 'Rapuca', 'Valduna' and 'Vaquera'…

Garden produce : peppers, onions, potatoes, tomatoes, carrots, all kinds of cabbage or cruciferous vegetables (typical of winter and especially notable for their antioxidant and anti-cancer properties), radishes…

Beans with their great variety : 'Mandilín', 'Canela', 'Castellana', 'De bocau', 'Carilla', 'Rojiza', 'Marina', 'Del cura', 'Careta', 'Maximina', 'Rosada', 'Rayada', 'Verdosas', 'Aceituna', 'Arrocera', 'Roxa mata media', 'Verdinas'…

At the market we can also find honey with the PGI 'Miel de Asturias' , game sausages , the best known artisan cheeses such as Gamonéu or Cabrales and other less common varieties such as goat cheeses with rosemary, spicy goat cheese, buffalo cheeses or Casín cheese chocolates.

If we take a walk around the enclosure we will also find wooden crafts (boxes, key chains, photo frames...), leather gifts, basketry with laminated sheets, textiles...

The Parres Town Hall is organizing a series of cultural events to celebrate the season over the course of a week. These include a Fountain Decoration Contest, the presentation of the "Parres Exemplary Village" award, a tribute to the "Locals of the Year," a Regional Cider Pouring Contest, workshops for children, a traditional chestnut roast (amagüestu), and performances by folk groups. The chestnut is the perfect excuse to celebrate and get together in autumn.
