    The carnival festivities are approaching and here we will give you all the information about the parades, brass bands, concerts... to be able to organize your agenda.
    When the dates of each event are made public, we will publish the day and time in full detail. At the moment there are only a couple of specific quotes.

    Antroxu de Gijón

    The great Antroxu 2025 parade will take place on March 3 and will be one of the main attractions of the Gijón Carnival 2025, which will be held in the days leading up to it, with events such as the XXXVII Charangas Competition and the children's parade.

    The registration period has opened for the XXXVI Antroxu Float Competition 2025, to be held on Monday, March 3 from 19:00 p.m. within the traditional Antroxu Parade. Registrations can be made until 13:14 p.m. on the Festejos website, where the corresponding forms can be found. Registration is free, and interested groups must complete the forms with the requested information.

    > The XXXVII Antroxu de Gijón Charanga Competition will take place between March 1 and 3. The performances, on the 1st and 2nd starting at 19 pm, will last ten minutes per charanga and the lyrics must be original.

    >The Jovellanos Theater will open on Saturday March 1 at noon to display the children's costumes, who will parade through the streets of Gijón on Sunday March 2, also from 12 noon. The XXX Children's Parade of Antroxu in Gijón will tour Parchís Square, Menéndez Valdés Street, San Miguel Square, Covadonga Street and Paseo de Begoña.

    Carabán Carabán is a magical forest where all the games in the world are born and the guardians of that forest teach the public different ways to play, encouraging participation and fun.

    > Saturday, March 8, 17:30 p.m. Carnival Parade
    Itinerary: Independencia, Uría, San Francisco, Eusebio Glez Abascal, Cathedral Square, Águila.

    Those who have entered the costume contests, bands, neighbourhood groups from the municipality's social centres and the Burial of the Sardine show "Carnival of the Animals" will take part in the parade, in which a procession of "humanised" animals will travel to the final party with music and rhythm, where they will celebrate life and death in a histrionic and carefree way, inviting us to share their joy and reminding us that the journey will always be more important than the final destination.
    There will be a reserved area for people with reduced mobility and one companion on Paseo de los Alamos (Escorialin area) and Plaza de la Catedral (Regent's Statue area). Access will be free and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis until full capacity is reached.

    Cathedral Square.
    The Competition will begin upon the arrival of the parade of participants, where the costumes will be displayed to the Jury in the order of categories.
    Children's category: Registered children who wish to do so may participate in the parade, which will start at 17.30:17.30 p.m. from Independencia Street. Those who do not join the parade must stand at the side of the stage at XNUMX:XNUMX p.m. to coordinate their participation in the Competition following the order of categories (individual and groups).
    Adult modality: individual – groups – social centers.
    Once the Competition is over, the Burial of the Sardine ceremony will take place with the “Carnival of the Animals” show.
    Jury's decision. The Jury's decision will be made public at the end of the parade of all the participants. The winners will be summoned by the presenter to appear on stage following the order of the categories of the competition.

    · Gastronomic Days at the Antroxu of Oviedo
