    The Bear Foundation

The Bear Foundation of Asturias (FOA) is a private non-profit organization, whose purpose is to promote and develop activities aimed at the conservation of the Cantabrian brown bear and its habitat. Sensitized by the imminent danger of extinction, in 1992 several people and entities settled in Asturias decided to create the foundation, with the purpose of intervening actively in the protection of this emblematic species of the wild fauna of the Cantabrian Mountains.

For their environmental education activities each year they spend some 12.000 school; in the immediate future, they have created a digital and physical documentation center for everything related to the brown bear.
