From May 8th to 10th, a new edition of the International Fitu Hill Climb will take place, once again counting towards the European Hill Climb Championship.

The headquarters of the event are located in the "Benito Pérez Galdós" House of Culture , where the secretariat and the meetings of the sports commissioners are located.

The International Fito Hill Climb will once again place Arriondas and the Sierra del Sueve mountain range at the heart of hill climb motorsport . This Asturian event will bring together prominent drivers from across Spain, the region, and internationally, as well as thousands of fans who follow the race each year from various points along the course.

Its importance within the European Hill Climb Championship keeps it as one of the benchmark events on the calendar . Not only because of the level of the participants, but also because of the atmosphere surrounding a circuit that has become legendary for motorsport fans.

The 2026 edition will also come after a particularly memorable race: Joseba Iraola's overall victory, which marked his first win at the Fito. This precedent suggests another highly demanding weekend, with a top-level competitive field and a renewed battle to etch the winner's name in one of the most emblematic events of the sport.

As preparations are finalized, the event is gearing up for another edition marked by excitement, tradition, and organizational excellence. In May, the Fito will roar once again, reaffirming its status as an essential classic on the international mountain biking scene.

Given that the event poses dangers to the attending public, the organizers have issued the following recommendations :

· Choose the highest places to enjoy the test, they are the most advisable.
· If you are at road level, the recommended distance is 25 m. at the edge of the road. If you are one meter high, the recommended distance from the edge of the road is 10 m. If you are two meters high, the recommended distance is one meter from the edge of the road.
· The areas prohibited for the public are marked with red marks in the direction of the route.
· Follow the instructions and respect the members of the organization.
· Leave access and evacuation routes free for ambulances.
· Stand behind the yellow "PUBLIC ZONE" tapes.
· Respect the environment, do not litter along the route and respect private property.

To enjoy!!
