From 15 to 17 May 2026 The festival and fair is celebrated with which Oviedo pays tribute to the work of the men and women of the countryside. The festival, with antecedents dating back to at least the 16th century, is declared of regional tourist interest.
The Cathedral Square and Porlier Square, along with Eusebio González Abascal Street, will host a total of 68 stalls. Cheese will be the main attraction of the market during its first two days. The Plaza de Alfonso II will have 32 stalls dedicated to varieties such as Cabrales, Gamonéu, Casín, Afuega'l Pitu, Beyos and other specialties made both in Asturias and in other autonomous communities.
The remaining spaces in the historic center will host other 36 sales areas, with products such as cider, sausages, honey, yogurts, jams, preserves, gluten-free foods and organic options.
Furthermore, 29 artisans participate with demonstrations and product sales at the Bombé promenade, in the Campo de San Francisco.
Commercial activity will be accompanied by a continuous music programmingOne of the main new features of this edition will be the concert by the historic band Asturian Mining Company, who will perform on Saturday at seven in the evening on the Bombé promenade.
The group, founded by American Michael Lee Wolfe (guitar and vocals), will be accompanied by Chus Fernández (bagpipes, flutes, and vocals) and Puri Penín (vocals). The performance will offer a musical and poetic journey through Asturian tradition, using the Primitive Way of St. James as its guiding thread. The first part will focus on the beginning of the route, starting from the Cathedral Square, while the second will broaden its perspective to encompass Asturias as a whole, creating a dialogue between traditional Asturian music and rhythms from elsewhere. The concert will conclude with the emblematic song "Asturias, patria querida" (Asturias, beloved homeland).
