Amagüestu in Oviedo
Due to the works in the Plaza de Porlier, this year 2024, the Balesquida Protective Society celebrates the Amagüestu in the CORRADA DEL OBISPO.
Sunday November 17th: distribution of chestnuts and sweet cider from 11 a.m. to 14 p.m.
Amagüestu set in prehistory
October 26 and 27, November 2, 3, 9 and 10, At 12: 30 hours.
This autumn, come to the Teverga Prehistory Park and experience an authentic amagüestu set in the Paleolithic. Equipped with a bag, we will have to go out and look for chestnuts and apples for the amagüestu, as well as sticks and stones to make the bonfire as our ancestors would have done. After the collection and a brief explanation of how they would make the fire, the amagüestu will be carried out by distributing chestnuts and natural sweet cider among the participants.
Aimed at a family audience with children ages 4 and up. Minors must be accompanied by at least one adult.
General rate: €5,5 (both adults and minors).
Reduced rate: €4,5 for members of the Asturias Culture Club, School Card and Cultural Passport.
It does not include entrance to the park and is not necessary to participate in this activity. Reduced admission will apply to adults interested in visiting the park.

XXI Seronda in Avilés

Location: Orbón Brothers Square.
Shows the culture, crafts and gastronomy of Asturias. A space to enjoy traditional music, dancing, popular songs and customs such as amagüesto, cider making or tasting Asturian products, typical of autumn. There will also be children's activities, dance workshops, traditional games and the presence of artisans and producers. A program designed for all audiences and that brings us two days full of proposals to not stop enjoying.
Traditional magosto in Grandas
Saturday November 2th for 2024, Ethnographic Museum of Grandas de Salime “Pepe el Ferreiro”.
During chestnut season, the Grandas de Salime Ethnographic Museum “Pepe el Ferreiro” lights the fireplace in the Rectory and starts the chestnut roasting drum. We invite you to learn about the traditional method of cooking this staple food and to try the result.
