A comprehensive tour of the Picos de Europa National Park and its surroundings, for five days we will get to know in depth the spectacular landscapes that make up the first National Park of our country in its 3 communities: Asturias, Castilla y León and Cantabria. Through this hiking trip around Los Picos de Europa, we will discover the geological formation, flora and fauna of these wonderful mountains and we will also enjoy its unique gastronomy, uses and customs of the country and complementary visits to monuments and other points of interest. .
DAY 1. LAKES OF COVADONGA. THE ROUTE OF LAS MAJADAS. 12 Km · 300 m ascent slope · 300 m descent slope.
Meeting at 09:30 am in Cangas de Onís and transfer to the Covadonga Lakes. Hiking trail to enjoy the The Lakes of Covadonga and its flocks. We travel by vehicle to Sotres to carry out the Mount Camba Route, a walking tour in a little-traveled area with spectacular views of the Massif Central and its emblematic peak, Naranjo de Bulnes. On this excursion, we will also visit two emblematic towns of the Picos de Europa National Park: Tielve and Sotres. We will also cross the beech forest of Monte Camba and visit the Valfrío and Tobaos sheepfolds, where the Cabraliegos make their famous Cabrales Cheese. Return to Arenas de Cabrales. DAY 3. Breakfast. THE CARES ROUTE. 12 km · Elevation gain 250 m · Elevation loss 150 m.
Better known as the Divine Throat, the Ruta del Cares It is a 12 km gorge carved into the rock that crosses the Picos de Europa from North to South. It is the busiest mountain route in all of Spain and whoever knows it falls in love with it. We will do the impressive Ruta del Cares on foot from Poncebos to Caín. Food in Cain. After lunch we will visit the Chorco de Los Lobos (as the wolves were hunted in the past) and the Hermitage of Corona (where legend has it that Don Pelayo was proclaimed king after the Battle of Covadonga). Later, we move to the Port of San Glorio, a road with hardly any traffic and of incredible beauty that takes us to Jars. Short stop in Potes and transfer to our accommodation in Espinama. Dinner and accommodation.
DAY 4. Breakfast. THE FUENTE DÉ CIRQUE and THE ÁLIVA GLACIER VALLEY. 14,5 km · Elevation gain 150 m · Elevation loss 975 m.
Transfer in vehicles to Source of. Ascent in the impressive cable car that takes us up eight hundred meters in altitude to enter the most spectacular area of the Picos de Europa National Park. Hiking trail through the Áliva Glacier Valley between the Central and Eastern massifs. In the afternoon we will visit a liquor cellar to see how the famous "Orujo de Potes" is made. Dinner and accommodation in Espinama.
DAY 5th. Breakfast. THE ROCKS OF BEJES. 8 Km · Ascent 450 m · Ascent 450 m.
To end this precious trip, today we are going to visit the Eastern Massif, perhaps the most unknown to the public, but also of great beauty. We move to the town of Bejes to take a fantastic walk around this beautiful town. We will go up to Pico Cueto Cunorio, an authentic viewpoint of Picos de Europa and the Hermida Gorge, where we will find an orientation table with the names of the main summits. At the end of the route, we will do a tasting of the delicious Bejes-Tresviso cheese. Farewell lunch and after lunch transfer to Cangas de Onís to end our expedition.

THE TRIPS
The hiking routes will be carried out along tracks or mountain paths in relatively comfortable terrain and without difficulties. The pace of the march is smooth and calm, with frequent stops, lengths between 10 and 15 km. and unevenness of maximum 300 meters of ascent. It is a trip to enjoy the landscape and nature of the Picos de Europa with walking tours, of low difficulty, suitable for anyone with a normal physical condition.
THE ACCOMMODATIONS
The accommodation will be in hotels and rural houses, in a double or single room with bathroom. They are correct and clean mountain hotels. What prevails in the trip are the activities to be carried out and we look for an accommodation where we can rest and shower.
THE VEHICLES
Our trip will take place in a 9-seater vehicle, ideal for moving through mountain roads in a familiar and flexible way. It is recommended to bring a travel bag or backpack with your luggage, rather than a rigid suitcase. To make the trip more comfortable, and having limited space in the vehicle, it is important to carry moderately sized luggage.
