Llanes is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful municipalities in Asturias. Sea and mountains merge in a unique landscape of its kind, with dozens of beaches and charming coves embedded in an iron and karst coastline.

Llanes has become a tourist exponent of the Principality. his unusual density of beaches  and its proximity to the Cantabrian mountains make it an ideal place for nature tourism.

The capital of the municipality, the vigorous town of Llanes, is the urban reference of an extensive and rural territory that extends parallel to the Cantabrian Sea. The sea also enters every corner of this town and gives us a seafaring flavor in the midst of ancient and modern buildings, mansions of Indian heritage, modern squares, historic squares, walks along the sea, ports, beaches and a rich assortment of shops, restaurants and tourist accommodation.

More than thirty beaches They extend along a coastline of about 35 linear kilometers. The length of the beaches varies from 20 meters in Villanueva to 1200 in San Antolín. Mostly beautiful coves, scattered and unusual, on one of the most beautiful coasts in the entire Cantabrian Sea.

La sierra del Cuera It faces the sea and is the backdrop for the entire municipality. Mountainous antechamber to the Picos de Europa, allows you to reach the best panoramic views of eastern Asturias. Festivals and events in Llanes

Llanes is also one of the headquarters par excellence of the Asturian folklore. Their distinctive traditional costumes, the popular bands and the "picas" among them throughout the entire Llanisca geography, have managed to involve all its inhabitants in the detailed organization of these festive events.

The weekly market de Llanes is celebrated every Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. to 14:00 p.m. in the Plaza de las Barqueras.
