    It covers the career of one of the most recognized authors in Spain, the Asturian Alfonso Zapico. National Comic Award in 2012 for "Dublinés" (homage to James Joyce), Zapico is one of the great references of Spanish comics, creator among others of the monumental "La balada del norte", an exercise in collective memory, a graphic novel that recovers a key moment in the history of Spain, the Revolution of '34.

    Who was Eugenia Martínez Vallejo? Why does she become the protagonist of two courtly portraits? How has the historical story treated the character? We approach one of the most original portraits in the Prado Museum's collection to analyze its context.

    The court of Charles II, the baroque language, the influence of Velázquez on Carreño de Miranda's production, the growing scientific interest shown in portraits like that of our protagonist... and many more topics, which will allow us to know all the secrets hidden in the portrait of one of the most iconic characters of our city.

    This activity is part of the program of special activities that the Niemeyer Center organizes on the occasion of the exhibition of the work Eugenia Martínez Vallejo, dressed, by the Avilés painter Juan Carreño de Miranda, which can be seen until June 2 in the Dome and which comes to the Center within the framework of the Prado Museum's Art that Connects program.
