The Forest Exhibition. Hugo Martínez-Tormo

This exhibition combines installations, sound, and video to reflect on the relationship between nature and technology. The artist recreates an “altered” forest where cables, sensors, and industrial materials coexist with organic elements. A stroll through the galleries invites reflection on the human impact on the environment, in the always engaging space of LABoral, perfect for an afternoon of contemporary art.

An exhibition of female creators from different generations, with diverse artistic approaches and styles, which come together in this exhibition to provide a broad view of the current state of art in our region.

The exhibition was created as part of a project developed by the Equality Policies Service of the Gijón/Xixón City Council for the creation of the 2026 calendar. It features a cover image by the sculptor María Jesús Rodríguez and, for each month, images from works by Begoña Muñoz, Carmen Castillo, Elena Rato, Gema Ramos, Helena Toraño, Kela Coto, Mabel Lavandera, Maite Centol, María Braña, Natalia Pastor, Soledad Córdoba and Tania Blanco.
