    We present here the traditional recipe for a star dish of Asturian gastronomy. The pot of cabbage, or Asturian pot, is undoubtedly a powerful dish, one of those that charges you with energy and cooked mostly in autumn and winter, in times of slaughter since it carries different products of the pig, especially compango.

    Along with fabada, it is one of the most popular spoon dishes in Asturias. Take advantage!

    Asturian pot ingredients

    • 2 bunches of collard greens
    • 2 sausages
    • 2 blood sausages
    • 1 piece of pork shoulder
    • 300 g of Iberian bacon
    • 300 g of fresh pork rib
    • 4 potatoes
    • Peppers
    • Olive oil
    • 3 cloves of garlic

    Asturian pot recipe

    • 1 We remove all the stems from the collard greens and chop them very finely. Then, we put them to cook in boiling water for 10 minutes and drain.
    • 2 We put all the sausage in a pot with cold water, and when it starts to boil, we add the collard greens and the peeled and chopped potatoes. We cook for an hour and a half.
    • 3 Sauté with olive oil, chopped garlic and add a tablespoon of paprika. We add this sauce to the pot and let it boil for 10 more minutes.
    • 4 We check the salt level and let it rest.
