    Here we offer a list by population of all the municipalities that make up the Autonomous Community of Asturias. The data comes from the National Institute of Statistics (INE) and is based on the year 2024 for most of the listed municipalities.

    As a summary we can say that Most of the Asturian population is located in the central part of the region, and the four largest municipalities (Gijón, Oviedo, Avilés and Siero) represented more than 60% of the total population of Asturias in 2023. Despite the concentration of population in large urban centers, Asturias has a high density of settlements, populations scattered in rural areas.


    The Principality of Asturias has an area of ​​10.605,23 km² and a population of 1.005.283 inhabitants (INE 2024), which represents an average density of 94,79 inhabitants/km². However, there is a significant difference between the highest and lowest densities.
